Yeah, all her thoughts of weddings had been boiling just over the past couple months. Rather intensively. When she wasn't training, with him, or in class, she'd been researching on the laptop.

"... I already told you... I was teased, remember? You're just biased because you love me."

"Well... you did have two boyfriends before me," he reminded her gently. "If I hadn't 'snatched you up', another guy would."

A small blush, once more. "I only got to Obito 'cuz he was Kakashi's stepbrother..." she muttered. "I think I've kinda scared everybody else away."

"That's impossible. I wasn't scared away. Remember? I was in love with you from the first time I saw you?" A kiss to one blushing cheek.

"Then perhaps you're just stupid..." she teased, but chuckled as well.

"...hardly. Rather, very smart. I made friends with you immediately. You never saw through my plan."

"Or maybe I did, but didn't care since you're such a catch..." she grinned, and poked his side.

"Aw, damn.." he pouted. "Why didn't you tell me right away? You could've saved me wasting all that time thinking I'd been friendzoned."

"... Did I ever mention I'm shit at reading other people's feelings when it comes to love matters? I had no idea you liked me that way, too... Iuhm. Did try to give you hints, in hopes that something would happen, but it seemed like you never noticed..."

"Ah. Okay. So that.. that massage thing.. and.. and when you first asked me to your room.. that was... that was really because you liked me?"

She blushed ad nodded. "The whole helping with my homework was just to spend some time with you, too... And when I asked you to the dance. I never ever wear makeup or kimono at school dances, nor bother to do anything about my hair, but... Since it was with you..."she bit her lip slightly, but a small, shy smile still bloomed.

"Oh." He could hardly believe he hadn't realised that. "Uhm. I never.. I never realised. I really thought you just wanted to be friends with me. Since.. since everybody seemed to be a lot taller than me and.. and much better at talking to girls 'n stuff..."

"Well... Good thing you peeked in my notebook, then, huh?" a small chuckle.

"Uhm.. well. I didn't... actually peek. More like.. I sorta got shown what was in it since.. uhm.. yeah." It sounded kinda lame when he told it. But he continued anyway... "Kakashi and Genma decided they were sick of watching me not figure out how to tell you I liked you..."

".... Oh. So that's why 'Kashi looked so smug the day before when he'd snatched my notebook..."

"Yeah.. there was some smugness involved," Minato admitted hesitantly. "Anyway. They told me I needed to change since you liked bad guys, not nice guys. And I told them that wouldn't work. Then they started quizzing me about what I wanted to do when I grew up. Figure out if I was good enough for you I guess.."

"... Doesn't surprise me, really. They're... A little over-protective at times, to be completely honest. They don't show it that obviously, but... They are."

"I guess," said Minato simply, not wanting to dwell on certain questions that could be raised about that. Like, if they were protective of Kushina, why'd they sleep with him, her boyfriend?

"Though... I'm just happy you did figure it out. Even if you needed a nudge from them." she chuckled. "And now, speaking of the ball before, it reminds me... There's something I wanna do here in the holidays. With you."

"Yeah.. I probably would've had to confess to you sooner or later.. I was going crazy. So.. third year, I might've found the courage..." Minato mused. "Oh. What you wanna do, then?"

"Iah." she blushed. "There's a Hanami gathering in town, so... I was wondering whether you'd like to go there."

He noticed the blush. This was interesting. "Yeah, I'd love it," he smiled at her. "Do I need to wear kimono, because I don't think I'll fit into my old one?"
