The Tournament [[Private, English]]

Finally they had arrived, after some hours of driving with the small bus bringing the students of their dojo from the school, to the city, in which the tournament was held. Kushina had just changed into her gi, and tightened her green belt, fastened her braid once more, and went into the big hall, walked over to stand just besides the others from the dojo - right between Kakashi and Genma.

Genma stood in his own gii and looked more bored then anything else.. he saw Kushina walk over to Kakashi and him and just gave a nod with the head.. Genma hated being at turnaments and even more to be part off them..

He scratched his neck and murmured some words in Russian quietly for himself..

Eventually, after everyone was settled, people were seperated into the pairs that had to fight, by announcing their names. The first round was kept within people from their seperate dojo's, and once they came to theirs, it was announced that; "Genma Shiranui will be fighting... Kushina Uzumaki."

Kushina widened her eyes a little bit before she cast a glance at Genma. But still, she smiled, and went to their designated spot, pointed out by the one calling out the names.

Genma just sighed and went over to were he hand to stand.. he bowed and went into position his face getting a serious look and he forgot about everything and everyone around him..

She did the customary bow, too, of course, then went into battle stance, completely forgetting everything else, too, as her gaze zeroed in on Genma... Ready to attack or defend at any time. She knew he would go for her legs; he was practiced in Judo, after all...

Genma moved quickly and closed the space between them and went for her legs while he hit her mildly in the chest..

She, however, evaded the attack on her legs, a simple and practiced shuffling of feet, and blocked the hit to her chest, trying to draw him in as she aimed three quick kicks of a series for his midriff.

Genma just dodged the attacks as quick on his feet as he is.. he moved quickly in front of her and gave her three quick hits to the chest while he moved to sweep her feet from under her..

She blocked all three hits (again), and took a small jump backwards, barely evading the sweep, breathing just a little bit harder than before. She didn't even let him finish the sweep before she was attacking, again, though - using the speed she'd gotten in her fight with Minato, she went for leg, hip and midriff with another series of quick kicks.

Genma evaded and dodged all her attacks but the last was close to close for Genma's comfort.. He picked up his speed and went with a series of hits and kicks to the chest, and middle area...

She didn't manage to evade, but still, she blocked - though she forgot her footwork.

Genma made a hard sweep at her feets while hitting her in the chest..

This time, he got her - her leg made a nasty crack, but she didn't notice - neither the pain, nor the sound - getting back on her feet as soon as she could, aiming for his chest with the next kick...

Genma moved back just out of her react and went into defence position.. his eyes never leaving her...

However, one step forward and she was attacking again - though this time, when she hit his blocking her, she gasped as another crack came - and she fell over, landing on the leg again, biting her lip, grimacing in pain as she instinctively grabbed the damaged leg...

Genma stopped and stood up straight before he went over to her.. "you okay?"

Still gasping slightly in pain, she slowly, carefully, sat back up, bit her lip, shook her head slightly. "My leg..."

Genma came with some curses in Russian before he bent down and picked her up in his arms and out of the ring..
He put her down on a bench and moved to the side to let a medic get space so he could work..

The medic was there in less than a minute, quickly pulling up the leg of the pants. "Oh. Seems like a broken leg, here." he could tell at first glance. Swelling, bruising, a slightly unnatural bend to the side, from the middle of the shin. He sighed. "I'll go get the remedies." and then he was gone again, to fetch what he needed.

Kushina sighed, trying to get into a comfier position, wincing when her leg throbbed again.

Genma looked a bit uneasy and murmured quietly in Russian under his breath before talking in English to Kushina "I'm sorry Kushina really.. I must have hit to hard.." he scratched his neck and look very sorry at her for what he had done..

A weak smile. "It's okay, Gen. Really. 'Tis what happens, after all." she shrugged. "Not like it's the first time I've broken bones at tournaments or training."

The medic returned, now with all he needed. "Okay. Kushina, was it?" She nodded. "Okay. Kushina, take a deep breath, this is going to hurt, but it's needed. So. Now, take the deep breath-" she dd as asked. "And exhale." as she did so, he cracked the leg back into proper position. She still gasped, twitched in reaction, though, biting her lip hard enough to draw blood, before the medic began to give the leg the proper support it needed for the next weeks of healing.

Genma just looked at the medic while he worked "I haven't broken I leg I must say.. other stuff sure but not that..." He scratched his neck "ill go get the gii of before ill go find your stuff.. Sensei will find Kakashi I think" Genma began to move away and over to were there bags were..

She nodded, looked after him as she took some deep breaths while the medic got the cast on her leg. After telling her he'd be right back, he grabbed his things and went away, soon returning with a pair of crutches. "You'll have to keep to these for at least 10 weeks. Go see a medic then, he'll know whether it's healed all the way through, or if you need to take it easy for a few more weeks."

Kushina's face paled, and she gulped - then sighed. Fuck. That was quite some muscle she was going to lose during that time. Loads to train again once she'd finally get back. Another sigh, and she nodded in defeat.

Genma heard what the medic said and sighed before he let the bags down on the ground beside Kushina "Got the bags.. You want to get out of here? I think Kakashi is about done by now" Genma had changed to a sweatshirt and some baggy pants and holded a hand out to Kushina to help her up "At least let me help you out.. Thats the least I can do" He a little sad smile was on his face..

She gave a small nod. "He is..." despite pain and injury, she smiled as she looked in Kakashi's direction - he was beaming with joy, for the first time in half a year... Because, now he had the black belt tied around his waist instead of the brown.

Smile developing into a grin, she took Genma's hand and got up to a stand, resting her wight on the healthy leg.
